The Beach Hotel was the first hotel on the beachfront. It was built on the plot of land adjoining Inverleith Terrace, close to the tram terminus on the beach front, and opened its doors on 22 January 1894.

It was one of East London's most beautiful landmarks until it was flattened in 1964 to make way for the Kennaway Hotel.
